So I have a few spare boxes ...the other day I needed to format a HD for sale, so I hooked it up in place of the CDROM as secondary master on a box (PA-2013 mobo), mobo recognized both drives, got the format done no prob. So today I reconnect the CDROM, fire it up, and the HD doesn't spin up (primary master, didn't touch it or the cable). Put the HD on the secondary master, works fine, boots up. Changed IDE cables, power connectors, no help. Device manager shows no problems with the primary IDE channel. Coincidence that the primary IDE just bit the dust? Any ideas?
