Had a similar problem with an A7V-133 and a Tbird 900@1250MHz. Started slowly and it got worst with time. It turned out to be a PS clogged with dust. Swapped it with an Enermax 350W I bought at an auction web site and everything runs fine now. Kept the original 300W PS as a spare after I cleaned it. My buddy had the same problem too, but his turned out to be a worn out fan on the CPU (K6 400MHz) that had slowed down and wasn't removing the heat effectively. I replaced it and he hadn't had a problem since.
Like Ludicrous said, check fans/heatsinks for dust and proper operation first.
