Thanks to all for the thread down below.

1. Will try the DIP switches today.
2. Some think I can upgrade this to a P166 eh...hmmm might even be worth selling for a couple a hundered bucks at that price. Even so - the cahllenge is there and the parts I presume would only set me back $50....hmmmm
very interesting.
