There were some relevent comments at Ace's Hardware indicating that the THG article may not be covering all bases (surprise) information-wise.

The best comment I heard was that if a one-pound heatsink falls off your processor the consequent destruction of the AGP card may, in some cases, be far more expensive than the processor death
