The playlist itself is usually just a text document containing the filenames.

Oh, Knightalon's directory switch can also be used as

DIR C:\BLAH\*.* > PRN

...for a direct send to the print spool. This can sometimes result in ugly formatting, though, because it will arbitrarily wrap to the next line when a text string reaches the end of the page.
