Do you have any other stick that you can try? The 512 MB DIMMs are pretty much the best thing you can buy but there is always a chance that either the boards memory clock is too weak or else you got a marginal DIMM that passed the tests in the quality control but won't work on that particular board.
My experiences with Soyo are not very positive but that aside, everything is possible. Drop me an email and I call you from the office on Monday or Tuesday, depending on how long I have to stay home (wife just had surgery)
