New comp

I recently upgraded from a Athlon classic 700, a maxtor 13.6 gig 7200 rpm drive 256 meg ram to a T-bird 1 gig, a IBM 60 gxp 20 gig hd and a little more and better memory than I had before (384 meg cas 2 pc133)Now I know I wont see huge leaps and bounds but it actually seems not quite as snappy. I also started with a fresh install of Win 2K pro but went with NTFS this time, Was that a mistake?
BEen through all the bios settings, jumper on the MB is set to 133. Kind of disappointing.
