It depends on the application.
The P4 is sometimes faster in applications highly dependent on long, consecutive data streams because that IS the one advantage of the Rambus architecture, i.e. its serial design and high theoretical bandwidth. This kind of activity is typical of certain types of a/v work.
OTOH, if you plan to be working heavily with the manipulation of short video pices (splicing, for example), DDR-SDRAM (and its lower latencies) and an SSE-enabled Palomino might do the trick.
Before making the final decision, you might do well to search the web for examples of your intended video editing applications in use on different platforms.
