Search for latest drivers of all your recent HW additions, and all HW come to that.

Ludicrous's advice is worth using.

What Mobo ?

I have similar set up and had similar problems with CUSL2 mobo and found a new bios 1009 helped quite a bit along with mega defrag and tidy up of temp files etc. Plus I went into tweak UI and pressed every repair button I could see heh, not very skientifik but you never know.

As a last resort I disabled advanced power management since that is not working properly due to the fact that most HW drivers are totally not interested in helping you hibernate at all and every driver has to be APM compliant for it to work. So there is a tag for "disable in this profile" in system>...>APM properties (down at the bottom).
