Well, although pulling the system power didn't fix it last night and leaving the machine off for two hours this morning did nothing EITHER, it may be working again.

I pulled the card out so that I could remove the BlueOrb and check the chip for catastrophic damage, but found nothing.

After re-inserting the card and powering the system back up, it works.

I'm crossing my fingers and hoping the problem was a hardware lock-up that required a complete removal from power in order to reset, or else just a dirty connection
