Palm's OS is pretty good, but obviously they're looking for something to compete with Windows CE powered machines. I've played with BeOS R5 personal edition and it is one sweet OS. For a newbie, installing programs and upgrading drivers is a snap, unlike Linux.

I hope that Palm puts some money into continuing the desktop OS.
