In my win2k, I was able to use "alt+backspace" combination to backtrack and delete the last keystroke (this worked in notepad, wordpad, or any IE text entry field). Now, all of a sudden that handy ability has mysteriously disappeared: "alt+backspace" combination works just like pressing "backspace" alone, which only deletes what's on the immediate left of the cursor.

Help is much appreciated
