I had a Diamond MX300 and the drivers were always tricky. Make sure the "multifunction parent device" installs first with au30mult.inf, then the other drivers (PCI audio device, gameport, MIDI, etc.) can follow.

I would install the 2048 drivers, then A3Ddrivers312.exe.
