On my ASUS A7V I replaced my crome ORB with an good cheap H/S & unit (fan around 4,700 RPM's).
I lapped the new alumium H/S & used Artic Silver this time around. My old 700 MHz socket A Tbird was down to 800 MHz (started @ 900), running @ 129 degrees F idle. Now I got 109 F idle & tested for
better speeds then 900 but would not fly, temp @
1 gig was 114.5 only POST & CMOS would work. Does 3D games @ 900 MHz so all is well again & the idle temp is 111 degrees F. Next is to fix the Duron 700 to 1 gig running @ 900 right now temp is 138.
