heard this story before. Not from my own Athlon box, thankfully, which has been running WinMe for four months with no issues.

And, if you ARE lucky enough to get it running stably, it IS very fast; although, as with Win2k, a good portion of this is possibly attributeable to the fact that WinMe and 2k have been compiled with newer compiler technology that can optimize for newer generations of processor (whereas 95/98/NT are optimized for Pentium Classic).
