Another way to cover your HD you might want to consider is to use a Mobile Rack I use the IDE
version for my backup ORB drive & my 40 gig HD I am using for my wave music storage & MP3
version. All I have to do is have the computer off to plug in or unplug the HD & only takes about
10 seconds to install or uninstall the drive.
This will not work on old full size HD's or CD & DVD players.
I got the version with the fan to help cool the hd down, as the computer case usually does this for you being metal where you screw the HD down on to. The hole in the mobile rack to allow airflow to the HD for the fan was not very big so I modified mine with a drill & left enuf plastic behind to keep the HD case holder strong enuf to get plugged in alot. I also do not use the top cover of my mobile rack.
Also the version of my IDE mobile rack has a power switch so when I lock in the HD with the key it also turns the power on to the device inside.
With lots of stuff like (drivers, bios's) its highly recommened that if its not broken, do not fix it.
