Well, my current car is actually half fun to drive, but space-wise it's not practical. Dunno if you're familiar with the late 80s Corollas, but the 2-door version is shorter, lower, and a bit more streamlined than the sedan. The GTS adds a couple cosmetic trim changes to make the car look sporty. However, "shorter" means that ALL of the 2-doors have no rear seat room However mine DOES have a nice gray interior, electric everything, and a sunroof.

So, something like the WRX would be fun, but for practical purposes I'd probably get a late-90s four-door Accord (I like the body style better) with tinted windows, trim it up a bit west-coast style, and drive it until I have all of my college loans et al paid up, then maybe start shopping a Beemer lot...
