You can go to 512, as LED noted he's at 768 (he's also running multiple OSs including W2k) just remember that the primary things you will get out of it on a WinMe system are "mine is bigger than yours" bragging rights.

In other words, it will be good for showing up frinds, and RAM is very cheap right now, just don't expect to see much (if any) benefit after installing it.

Maybe if you use a memory-intensive application like Photoshop or something you will see improvement, but if you're running something like that switch to Win2k.

Oh, and please forgive THUNDER. What he is observing is that clock for clock a Tbird generally outperforms a PIII and regardless is a several price steppings cheaper. And actually, they just got another 100MHz out of it -- a 1.4GHz part is being announced at Computex in Taiwan this week
