I'd get the Radeon 32 (if it's DDR and not the LE) for sure over the MX. For motherboards, look into the KT133E chipset - budget version of the KT133A. I know Abit has a board, but their reliability isn't the best.

Most boards do seem to have onboard sound, but look for one that actually has a sound chip instead of the AC97 codec that sucks away CPU cycles.
