That warning was for anyone who connects directly
to the battery & sounds like you did the smart thing & got a proper device for the job. Me I would have gotten two crimp connectors or my
wire cutters to make a inline splice & some tape. I rarely use wire strippers anymore as wire cutters can be faster & just as good, it requires some pratice to get it right.
