In the old days of win95 when 64MB was the average amount of RAM the formula was 2.5 times installed RAM. Today that would be nuts.

A 300MB fixed swap file should be all you need for a home computer. Just set it to 300 min and 300 max. Then defrag your HD and go.

The new "formula" for win2k is 1.5 times installed RAM.

I'm not sure, but it seems to me a 1.5GB swap file would slow you down because the resources need to handle/admin a file that large would be a drain?

Peace
