Sounds like a possible case of connectoritices,
try reseating all ISA, PCI, AGP & all plugs video,
keyboard, mouse, speakers. Also try the CPU, RAM,
HD's, floppys, CDRoms ECT. & all power connectors.

My first guess the sound card & or AGP card is
moving around on you from heating up & cooling down.
