A couple of factors Thor RAID 0+1 will preform faster and better than just RAID0 and give you a backup as well . The performance on 1 Drive will not come close (theoritically) to 2 Drives set in RAID 0...by adding 2 more drives in RAID0 speed does not increase and acually slows it down as the drive increases in size. I personally use 4 15 Giggers in RAID 0+1 set at block 16...the reason is because they are the smallest ATA100 drives I could get my hands on. 1 drive crashed but all my info is still in tact until I get another. |
