i own an amd k-6-2(?) processor.i used a "zd processor identification for pc benchmarks" it reports the processor as "AMD-K6(tm) 3D processor".i run a dual boot on my system.when i compiled the latest version of lthe linux kernal the system boots only if i use the cyrix optimisation or the 386 optimisation.it does not accept the k6 optimisations ie the kernal does not boot. is there a way i can determine whether my cpu is authentic AMD without using the cpuid.tnx for any help
