I have always had good luck with Maxtor and Seagates.
I repair a lot of computers and I'll admit that
most of the machines I service are from 1994 thru
1999. In these machines, (clones and proprietary
bitches, aka Packard Hell & Gateways), the
crappiest drives are the WD's. From 1.2 to 8.4
gig, the Western Digital drives were the ones
failing. Maxtors and Seagates were few and far
between for falures in this era of computer history.
I assume that the larger platter drives now out by
Maxtor are getting a bad rap? I have a 15 gig Max
I'm running now with no problems yet.
(Damn.....where is a piece of wood when you need it!)
