The preivous comment about higher than 1 spin bit rates is not correct.
The standard is 1Spin or a maximum bit rate of 11Mbps I think, although 9.8Mbps is a default standard.
the only benefit of a >6x is your data transfer rates to your hard drive for copying the movie.
2x will take 30mins whereas a 6x will do it in about 10mins - if your other PC stuff (HD etc) can handle the data transfer rate.
Its all a wank for now (well at least for the next two years, when HD's and system will be capable or full data tranfer rates. A bit like running a 48x CD on a 486DX100...not really necessary - itll still only run at about 2x.
Note - high speed DVD's are generally more noisy - especially the cheapper ones.
The CPU and vid card/monitor is important to appreciate the full DVD quality though. Anything
