I have had my Duron 750 for a while now. I have an Epox 8KTA-2 mobo and 128MB of Micron PC100 cas2 Ram. I havent been able to have any sucess overclocking more than 850. I have a 5000RPM fan with a rather large heatsink and an unlocked CPU (good old pencil trick). I tried o/c with just FSB and had good luck. Got 825 easy with the 110MHz bus I beleive. After that I tried to use the multiplier to get even more speed, but every time I upped the multiplier even little amounts, I had problems, not heat problems, but problems with lock up on post and lock ups booting in/being in Windows. I upped the voltage (cant remember exactly how much) with no help. I was just wondering if anyone with a similar motherbaord/cpu combo could tell me how they got to 900 or beyond. Is my heat sink and fan not good enough or is it just the motherboard or the cpu that cant handle the speed. Any really concrete help would be GREATLY appreciated. I have already looked at Toms Hardware and AnandTech for any help but only had limited success. Thanks in advance.
Ron Jon
