Caching by the chipset was done on the TX and other S7 /SS7 platforms where ther L2 cache was on the mainboard...

In other words, it is only the amount of memory that the CPU can cache (depending on the L2 configuration of the CPU) that matters. The PII can cache up to 4GB, the Celeron... don't know but it is definitely more than 128 MB since I have been running my 300A with 640 MB system memory for awhile.

There are a few things to check in the control panel / system / performance / file system which needs to be set to network server in order to make use of the amount of memory that is physically present in the box.
