My opinion is to first take Richter's advice and get at least another 64MB of RAM -- it's certainly cheap enough right now -- and then, with whatever money you can still afford to spend, take LED's advice and get either a GeForce2 or ATi Radeon.

If both of those are out of reach after the memory upgrade, you can still get a decent year's performance out of a GeForce2 MX.
