While dating, my girlfriend was drying her hair and a fuse blew. The whole house went dark! There was only two fuses!
Our house has all ceiling lights, porchlights, the garage, all outlets on 2nd floor all on same breaker! AND this place has been rewired! It had floor outlets, and in the bathroom there was a big box on wall, containing two fuses and a KNIFE SWITCH!. This was still hot, but wasn't hooked up to anything on the load side. It's gone, replaced by a small box and a blank cover.
