bought one Toto a few months ago, they have the best flush efficacy (dumps/ gallon of H2O) with their larger diameter outflow (1/2 inch wider than standard, I forgot the exact dimensions).

Heated toilet seats have been around since the sixties but have been considered unhygienic because they promote bacterial growth. My own personal favorite was the one with the built-in ventilator, hooked up to an exhaust fan to eliminate odors before they even escaped the bow(e)l. Another spiffy one was the clear lucite version with embedded thumbnails (no spikes sticking out, though.

And then, there was the revolutionary approach of Luigi Colani, a somewhat frustrated car designer (remember the ColaniGT based on the VW Beetle and the high performance single person aircraft? He also designed the Excalibur.)

I forgot what the special thing about his toilet seat was but it was revolutionary in the seventies
