I own the Logitech Optical Mouseman Wheel, and love it. Never had a problem.
I got my roommate the Microsoft Intelimouse Explorer, and he hates it. The stupid thing has just died twice now, and he's on his 3rd one. Construction is cheap, definitely not what I expected from their "flagship" mouse.
I have friends that use the non-Explorer version and love it. Seems to be much better construction and not as prone to hardware failure.
