Why would they give a NEW product a series number that makes it appear to be an OLD product?

If I was shopping for hard drives, and saw a 60gb 75GXP next to a 60gb 60GXP, I would think the 75GXP was a newer product, or at least had more features.

Anyone know the logic behind this?
