Your question on "line extenders" for printers, I have used them in the past, one end "box" attaches to the server, is routed through the hub, then another box is between the printer (a dot matrix)and connection. The one I used only cost about $50. it worked surprisingly well and extended the printer usage to any location there was a Lan outlet. Of course, using this type of setup may not work with a printer that would require an ecp/epp port, I guess the only way to find out is to try. |
