The double-density CDRs will cost $2. DD CDRW will be $3. Compare that with current media's price/capacity and the new format doesn't look so good. Shortly after Sony, TDK will release their triple-density CDRW drive. Of course, all this new media will not be compatible with the old drives.

Forget all this. Just wait for DVD-RW.
