For best results a good fan blowing cool air into
the case mounted to the the front of the case
(best fan if you only add one)
& if you can a fan on the back of the case blowing hot air out.

I also hope you got a good Heat Sink & fan combow?
Was good thermal compound used between the CPU & Heat Sink ?.
Even for a 800 MHz TBird I got a crome ORB.
