Hi Bob, Its a (custom built in 1999) Pentium II 400, with 128 ram, 13 gig. HD - with cdrw, 100 zip, dvd, (camera, scanner, printer). Under sound video game controllers Device Manager says, "Yamaha DS XG Legacy Sound System, DS-XG PCI Audio Codec, and a Yamaha DS-XG Game port. The disk I got with the machine that says Sound driver on it says DCS S817 PCI Sound card. I mostly use my computer for doing pictures and playing music (besides surfing). I noticed when I upgraded the Windows Media Player right before this problem, I think it mentioned about 7 different Codecs it was installing in my machine. Could they have messed things up? I hope you can get an idea of what could be wrong. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated. Thanks! Bonnie
