need help with Microsoft office 2000 installation

hey i dont know whats going on but i have been tryign to install MO 2000 pro for the past few days to no avail..everything works fine until after the program is installed..my computer restarts and then office finishes setup and then after my music plays a window opens up saying error in registry widows will restart adn fix..and if i dont click on the restat button, i can go into the office programs, all of them and they all work..but when i restart the programs do not work and a window pops up and says office was not installed completely contact admin...so whast going on? i have never seen dhtis happen before..the cd worked on another computer f mine perfectly but wuht this one it doesnt? any ideas you computer geniuses out there?
