Keep my wallet closed to see if Intel can indeed figure out how to come up with a chip that is actually faster than the supposedly slower AMD chips. The "hallowed" P4-1500 is only faster than the Athlon 1200 in pretty much only ONE benchmark test. I don't know about everyone else, but in my book, that's pretty pathetic, especially when comparing in "bang for the buck." How much does a P-4/1500 cost compared to an Athlon 1200? I'm going to sit with my little K6-2 for a while longer yet. I'm not about to blow a wad of money on EITHER brand until the final results are in. Screw the current situation.

By the way, all I've seen people hollering about in K6-3 chips is the 450. I saw reference to a K6-3/550--Did they even release them? I seem to recall the main problem to the K6-3 chip was overheating, but were there any other factors involved that killed it? Or was it just pointless (from AMD's marketing, anyway) to continue to develop and market a chip obviously beneath the genetration of chips they were getting set to release (the Athlon)?
