Yeah, S-Video is just an analog signal but the Red, Green, and Blue are sent on separate wires for better quality. The adapter just converts them to the RCA jack.

Dunno how far RCA is actually specified to, but 25 feet should work okay Just run it over to a TV or VCR auxilliary input.
