I switched mainboards & cpu's in my husbands machine, popped the Alpha HS/fan on the K62-500(Had just taken the alpha apart and cleaned all the dust bunnies out of it, new coat of arctic silver on the CPU) fired the puppy up and luckily I went into BIOS to watch the temp on the CPU before booting into window...I watched the temp climb to 125 degrees and I hit the switch to turn it off. WTH...well I had put the stupid spacers back on the alpha wrong...single stacked instead of double stacking them and the screws were below the H/S and not letting it sit down on the cpu. DUH! Got a tad warmish there.
Needless to say I fixed that in a hurry.
Cats claw, huh? Have to give that a whirl. I don't get the flu often..about once every 10 years or so tho, but if I do it hangs on and on and on. Thanks
