Well all, finally thinking about making the jump to "The Darkside".....

i've been an Intel man since the days of my AMD 486 DX4-100, many moons ago. i currently have a PIII 700 o'clocked to 966, and am looking to upgrade with my newfound tax refund. im leaning toward a 1.2 gig TBird and a KT133A mb, probably an Abit or the new MSI K7T TURBO. also, im having some reservations about any compatibility problems that might occur. i am well aware that the Athlon is the better technology, in comparison to the PIII, but am also aware of certain problems with certain VIA chipsets and assorted video cards. there also seems to be a more labor intensive process involved getting one of these boards setup. right now i have a Radeon 64 VIVO. what are my chances of potential problems with this setup? basically, i would like to know, is this a worthwhile upgrade path, and what are the potential pitfalls? my apologies to all the AMD experts out there for being somewhat not in the know, but ive owned and built strictly Intel for the last nine years. any ideas would be appreciated
