I know what you mean about easy intel overclocking! I am a big fan of the celeron...I used a celeron 300a@464 for two years!
I know that performance wise a celeron does not stand up to a duron but when I found out about the magical celeron 566 I just couldn't resist. So I popped one into my old BX6 (with a slotket). It turned out to be quite a worthy successor to my 300a since it's very stable at 950 (112FSB). However, some of my memory sucks so it's now at 850. Still, that's not too shaby 
However, I finally found an excuse to get an Athlon system. I have a lot a spare parts lying around so I'll put together something for my parents (who still have a 486Dx4 100Mhz) using my celeron and in return they cover some of the cost of my new monster. Can't wait for that gigahertz!
