OK I am starting to see how this works.I just need to find a test bed before I start doing it for real. When I display the source of my home page using my editor the code you showed me is the same as what my editor does setting up a hyperlink to a page or site.In fact my home page source is full of them!!
I will do a little more study as I can see now the code sets the complete behaviour and appearance of the page and link.
