other causes
memory running wrong CAS & or the speed set 100 or 133 MHz
CPU voltage is to low
broken or even cracked CPU
There can be other only I just woke up.
Oh ya sratching a CAP case will not hurt it, but denting it would
from what I heard a HS touching a scratched CAP would short out kill MoBo
CAPS = smoother clean power for the CPU & can be used like a small battery backup
when there is a sudden big demand for power.
