I had the same problem with an old Seagate 1.7 gb hard drive. I used Seagate's low-level format utility and now it works fine. Conner was bought out by Seagate I believe, not 100% sure. Or go to the link below the drive settings on this page are different from what you listed, give it a try before the low-level format. I think this will give the LL software: http://www.seagate.com/support/disc/drivers/discwiz.html
