Is Half-Life your main reason for upgrading? Will you be buying any new games in the next 6-8 months that would justify a top-end card, or do you just want HL to be smooth?

I play HL (Counterstrike an TFC, mostly) on a $99 GeForce2 MX clocked at 200/200, 1024x768, and it runs great (Athlon Tbird and 192MB RAM).
