It varies from video card to video card how 'demanding' they are on their IRQ. Shame really because IRQ sharing is included in the PCI specifications but many cards just aren't up to standard.

They should do what they did last time and cascade the IRQs again. There were originally only 8 IRQ interrupts but this was increased to 16 by cascading (using two sets of eight) through IRQ 2.

Fortunately future buses (or bi) seem to use fewer IRQs such as USB which uses 1 per every two ports (with each port being able to daisy-chain devices) whereas legacy serial and parallel ports hog an IRQ each. Sound cards are very greedy taking two interrupts.

Oh well.
