You could try underclocking the processor. Have you tried putting the K6-2 400 back in? If that works then maybe you could reflash the BIOS. Never heard of that motherboard brand though so I wouldn't get too hopeful about BIOS support. If you can get your hands on a better super socket 7 board (for free or as near as) then maybe that would help.
