I just bought a used Gigabyte motherboard (the 5AX) with an AMD 500 MHz CPU. I've loaded all three slots with PC-100 RAM, but the computer won't boot unless I take the CMOS battery out. When the battery is out, the computer does recognize the total value of the RAM. The good people at Gigabyte Support haven't responded, so I'm asking you all... what gives?
